Grand Rapids is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Grand Rapids follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. Very elegant, quiet, nice background music, friendly staff. Afternoon Tea is wonderful. Different themes all the time, so decor always changes depending on the theme. Going back for Harry Potter's Wizard's Tea!!!🍵 Highly recommend. Also, there cafe menu early in the week is delicious, they have a variety of food, along with a heat and serve option for take away. Try the Shepard Pie!!!

Had a wonderful experience for my birthday at High Tea. The teas were delicious and there was quite a variety to choose from. The food exceeded our expectations. It was all so goo we couldn't pick a favorite. Service was excellent. I highly recommend !

It was a cute experience. The food was ok but there could be some improvements. Some of the scones were chewy and a bit too dense, all pretty small. Some of the flavors offered didn't feel present in the tasting, such as the apricot and the blueberry. The dessert was also pretty dry. My biggest gripe was the service. They charge an automatic gratuity of 18% and an extra 3% service charge. Which was annoying but I was willing to pay, but I at least expect the service to reflect that... it didn't. When you enter the building no one greets you, no one comes up to the front to see if you have a reservation or if you're meeting someone, no one even acknowledges the door even with the bells. My table had to wave me over so I could be seated. Once someone finally came to take our order they didn't go through the tea menu and explain the options, they didn't describe the flavor profiles, they didn't really recommend anything. I got the high tea so I could try everything and it was all just ok. The sandwiches could've used a little more filling it felt more like a spread than a sandwhich filling. On the cucumber sandwich it tasted like bread with an essence of cucumber slivers, not sure why

Had a difficult time making a reservation for our party. We were trying to figure out if there was any special offerings for a birthday party and were told “not particularly” when calling the venue for my info. The website does show an option for selecting a special occasion… but doesn’t explain what they do to make it a special occasion. They did provide a cupcake to the person celebrating a birthday Our waitress seemed new- she wasn’t able to answer some of our questions and seemed unsure at times. We did have to request things like more water and more tea from other wait staff because our main waitress didn’t come back to our table enough. Also, some of our party had their orders served together on the same plates without serving utensils. I did find this odd since it’s supposed to be fancy. The food choices were basic and small portions. For $45 a person, I was expecting a little more with the presentation and offerings. The best item was the scones with lemon curd- they were warm and tasty. Overall, it was fun to try, but I don’t know if I would do it again.

While visiting friends in Grand Rapids, Michigan, they surprised me with a very belated birthday treat… my favorite: High Tea. Honestly, there are worse ways to age. High Tea Grand Rapids is a charming tea room with a surprisingly large space that still manages to feel cozy. Each table is thoughtfully set for tea service, and the wallpaper and decor give it that warm, slightly whimsical “you’re-about-to-sip-something-important” vibe. The tea selection is solid. Between the four of us (my friend, our husbands, and me), we ordered the full tea service and sampled four different teas like very civilized, slightly competitive sommeliers. The guys stayed classic with Yorkshire and Earl Grey, while we ventured into China Rose Petal, Green Tea with Jasmine, and Rose Lemonade. The Rose Lemonade was my favorite, even though it’s decaf… which feels like a betrayal, but I forgave it. The tiered tray presentation was beautiful, filled with savories, scones, and sweets. Everything was tasty, though I have to be honest: the breads leaned a bit dry, and the plain scone missed that magical scone moment. You know the one, crisp edges with a soft, tender center. This one was more “polite biscuit”
